As we languish through the winter doldrums, my head returns to the winter of last year when I had an unanticipated illustration project about which I am still quite chuffed.
I just looked up “The Hermit.” That is a stunning card/icon. I would love to have a discussion with you sometime about Tarot. And yes, “The Pilgrim” seems almost to compel my visits. Perhaps it’s the walking symbol that I connect with? Walking to the grave.
Thank you, Mia! I think it’s wonderful how both maximalist and minimalist environments can provide a similar sense of comfort and ease of mind. Glad to know you are a happy user of Field Notes.
What a wonderful project! Congratulations on the invitation to draw for Field Notes! Absolutely delighted by the design and final product. That is a brand of notebook I had not heard of but now may be tempted to invest in and leave scattered, filled over time in fits and starts with odds and ends...
Congrats on the Field Notes gig! I'm a big fan of their sketchbooks, and your box design is fantastic.
Thanks, Matthew! If you’d like one of the boxes I can drop it off at your place some time?
Love “The Pilgrim”. She reminds me of my favorite Tarot card “The Hermit” . I would visit her too.

Yes for sure….something about the walking the solitude of a road only oneself can walk. So good. Haha always up for a discussion on Tarot. Next time!
Love your sharpener display!
It’s gorgeous. I live in a maximalist environment with paintings, plants & multiple overlayed rugs….so I appreciate your installation.
Congratulations on the Field Notes gig. I have quite a few of their little books.
